Esthetician Programs
What is Esthetics?
Esthetics is a branch of anatomical science that deals with the overall health and well-being of the skin.  An estheitican is a person who provides services that enhance or correct the beauty and health of the skin.  Estheticians provide services that enhance the appearance of the skin using specialized products, techniques, and tools.
Program Goals
The goal of the esthetics curriculum is to prepare each student to become a licensed professional.  Technical instruction is taught by demonstration, lecture, classroom participation or examination.  Practical operation is the actual performance by the student of a situational experience using the information they have gathered from technical intruction and studying.
BASIC ESTHETICS   600 hour Basic Esthetics
The 600 hour Basic Esthetics Program is designed to prepare the student for the Virginia State Board of Cosmetology Examination in Esthetics.  This program provides the student with all of the necessary basic information as required by the State to operate at an entry level esthetician position performing facial treatments, cellulite treatments, body wraps and hot wax depilation techniques.  This program prepares the student to perform basic esthetic services and provides proficiency in a number of esthetic treatments, such as galvanic current, vacuum and spray machines, glycolic acid application, lymphatic drainage of the face and neck, extraction techniques, treatments for the skin and age management.
The Basic Foundation courses introduce you to the field of esthetics.  These courses prepare you to perform basic facials, waxing, makeup, lash/brow tinting, and provides you with the foundation necessary for advanced study.
As a student you will learn the following:

MASTER ESTHETICS   600 hour Master Esthetics
Students must have completed the 600 hour Basic Esthetics training or equivalent.  The 600 hour Master Esthetics Program is designed to provide an overview of what can be expected in an advanced setting.  Students can expect to develop knowledge and skills on more advanced facial treatments,chemical procedures as well as evaluate skin care products and ingredients and medical terminiology.  This program prepares the student to perform comprehensive esthetic services such as oxygen treatments, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, exfoliations, and pre and post-operative care.

THREADING   1 week threading class
The threading training program will be aweek long class of practical training and technical instruction relating to up-to-date threading techniques.

Training will include:
-Proper handling of thread
-Disinfection and Sanitation
-Maintenance and shape of eyebrows
-Practical set-up
Nail Technican   150 Hours
Training will include:
-Health and Safety/Hazardous Substances
-Disinfection and Sanitation
- Bacteriology, Anatomy, and Physiosology
-Water and oil manicures, including hand and arm massage
-Complete pedicure including foot and ankle massage
-Application of Artificial
-Nail wraps and repairs
